Mission
The International Trade Administration is responsible for strengthening the international competitiveness of U.S. industry, promoting trade and investment, and ensuring fair trade and compliance with trade laws and agreements. It accomplishes this by, among other actions, assisting U.S. businesses with accessing international markets, facilitating global companies’ investment in the U.S., engaging with industries on trade strategies, and defending against unfair trade. In FY 23, ITA helped over 92,000 unique U.S. businesses and organizations access foreign markets and facilitated more than $170 billion in U.S. exports, supporting over 595,000 jobs.
