On July 10, the Performance.gov team hosted the PMA Event: Driving Results for All. The event occurred at the Yates Auditorium in the Department of Interior, with a virtual livestream for attendees as well.
The event featured keynote remarks from Jason Miller, Deputy Director for Management at the Office of Management and Budget, who highlighted successful PMA initiatives with a focus on government wide collaboration, followed by a series of engaging talks from dedicated public servants who are championing PMA priorities to build a stronger workforce, improve customer service, and strengthen how the government does business.
In a fireside chat, Elicia Moran, Pathways Program Officer, National Science Foundation (NSF) and Carmen Andujar, Director for Recruitment Policy, Outreach, and Pathways Programs from the Office of Personnel Management discussed how NSF is utilizing the Pathways Program successfully to expand hiring across the agency.
Supporting Priority 2, Chris Given, Direct File Product Lead, Internal Revenue Service and Merici Vinton, Direct File Deputy, U.S. Digital Service discussed the IRS’ Direct File Pilot that was recently made permanent and what made it a successful Federal CX initiative.
In the third and final talk, Nicole Evans, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Acquisition and Senior Procurement Executive, U.S. Department of the Treasury and Christine Harada, Senior Advisor, Office of Federal Procurement Policy, OMB discussed the Department of Treasury’s efforts to advance equity in procurement.
The event’s emcee, Loren DeJonge Schulman, Associate Director, Performance and Personnel Management, OMB, provided concluding remarks that focused key takeaways around engaging stakeholders, building trust, tackling challenges and growing from them, and listening to the workforce.
