Agency Priority Goals, or APGs, are an agency’s near-term, implementation-focused priorities that the heads of each major federal agency set every two years. Today, those Federal agencies published the FY 2024 Quarter 3 updates of progress on Performance.gov.

Agency Priority Goals, or APGs, showcase the commitment of the federal government to deliver more efficient public services to all Americans. APGs serve as strategic stepping stones toward the achievement of broader, long-term objectives in an agency’s strategic plan. By setting clear, measurable targets, APGs provide a framework for agencies to track progress and achieve impactful results.

The latest updates for the third quarter of the FY 2024, covering April 1 through June 30, serve to inform the public about the progress being made across major federal agencies and highlight significant milestones or barriers along the way. Read on for Q3 highlights from the Small Business Administration (SBA), the General Services Administration (GSA), the Department of Education (ED), and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

SBA Offers Entrepreneur Support with THRIVE Program, Grants, and Outreach to Underserved Communities

SBA launched the 2024 THRIVE program with over 1,250 participants in 67 cohort locations, collaborated on the “Path to Prosperity” event series aimed at rural small businesses, and introduced the “Are You Lender Ready?” borrower education series to empower entrepreneurs. Additionally, in Q3 the SBA deployed Portable Loan Outreach Centers (PLOCs) to underserved and disaster-stricken communities. GSA Expands Language Options on Login.gov

GSA is advancing its mission to make Login.gov a secure, equitable, and widely-adopted digital identity platform for accessing government services. In Q3, Login.gov introduced new language options, allowing users to choose English, French, Spanish, or Simplified Chinese as their preferred language. This update, made possible through collaboration with the Department of State’s Office of Language Services, is enabling federal agencies to better serve diverse communities and improve the user experience for millions of individuals accessing critical government services.

ED Advances High-Quality Summer Programs through Partnerships

In Q3, ED made significant progress in helping states implement high-quality summer programming through the Engage Every Student Initiative, a partnership with organizations like the National Summer Learning Association and the Afterschool Alliance. The initiative aims to ensure that every child has access to enriching out-of-school time programs. ED has also provided technical assistance, hosted a national event with the White House on accelerating student learning, and highlighted successful summer math and reading programs.

USAID Expands Access to WorkwithUSAID Platform

USAID continued to expand Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) within its programs. In Q3, USAID launched the Arabic version of the WorkwithUSAID platform, adding to the existing Spanish and French versions introduced in Q2. These language options make invaluable resources more accessible to prospective and current local partners in language- relevant countries.
