Latasha Hackworth

Latasha “Tasha” Hackworth is a Functional Chief of Operations at the U.S. Department of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service. With over 20 years of committed public service, Ms. Hackworth is dedicated to enhancing government performance through the stewardship of strategic initiatives, leading complex projects, and driving process improvements.

Ms. Hackworth will serve as a White House Leadership Development Program Fellow in the Office of Management and Budget’s Office of Federal Procurement Policy. As a Management and Policy Analyst, she will use her knowledge to help improve the federal acquisition system, support policy actions, and promote innovative acquisition practices.

At the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, Ms. Hackworth worked in key positions of increasing responsibility, including Functional Chief of Operations, Supervisory Career Field Specialist, Chief of Legal Systems and IT Security Specialist. The combination of these roles has honed her leadership and technical capabilities, preparing her to influence federal initiatives and policy.

Ms. Hackworth’s passion for developing others is evident in her work to implement an employee development program that utilized no-cost training opportunities to support career growth and enhance workforce skills by addressing employee core competencies.

Ms. Hackworth holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Memphis.

Ms. Hackworth enjoys spending time with her three children and serving as their unpaid taxi driver. She also enjoys roller skating, writing poetry, DIY projects, planning, and volunteering in her community. She lives in Baltimore County, Md., where she balances her dynamic career with her creative pursuits and family life, always exploring new opportunities for growth and service.
