Sharice Smith-Lewis

Sharice Smith-Lewis joins us from the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). As Executive Officer for Organizational Excellence, she led administrative operations for programs related to healthcare compliance, ethics, oversight, quality and safety. Ms. Smith-Lewis brings abundant experience managing financial resources, developing budgetary requirements and advising senior management on program administration matters. She holds prior VHA appointments as a Program Analyst in the Strategic Planning and Analysis branch, as a Financial Manager for the Samuel J. Heyman Award-winning Homeless Programs, and as a Health System Specialist within Operations and Management.
Prior to joining VHA, she served for six years at the National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, as well as several years in the private sector healthcare and financial services arenas. Ms. Smith-Lewis earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Simmons College, a Master of Healthcare Administration degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a Master of Project Management certificate from ESI International/George Washington University. In addition, she completed a two-year healthcare administration fellowship at the University of Virginia Medical Center and is a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute.
Sharice’s year-long rotation is at the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council (FPISC) - Office of the Executive Director, where she is assigned to the Modernize Infrastructure Permitting CAP Goal.
